Safety and child safety standards

Last updated: October 4, 2026

GoFiChat is a chat and games app for people in the same place, like friends on a trip or classmates on a bus. You must be at least 13 to use it. This page explains how the app keeps people safe, what to do if something goes wrong, and our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation.

How GoFiChat is built

If someone makes you uncomfortable

For parents and carers

GoFiChat only connects phones that are close together. Your child can only talk with people in the same place, and nobody joins a room without scanning its QR code or being let in. The app has no ads, no purchases and no tracking. You can limit or block it with Screen Time on iPhone or Google Family Link on Android.

Child safety standards

GoFiChat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to everyone who uses GoFiChat and to everything sent in it: messages, photos, voice messages, names and room names. Nobody may:

Breaking these standards breaks our Terms of Use.
